Hey pretty Mama,
Hope you are doing well.
If you are tired of eating chicken, but are looking for another protein source, one of my favorite things to eat in the summer is Shrimp. Unless you are allergic to Shrimp, Shrimp is a great protein, and iron option during and after pregnancy. This wonderful Shrimp Ceviche dish pictured here is not only low in calories and fat, low in mercury, just like salmon, pollack, sardines and catfish and will give you the extra protein and iron any pregnant mama needs. Expectant moms should aim for at least 8-12 ounces of seafood a week to be able to get their 71 grams of protein as well as 21 milligrams of iron a day to support their baby’s growth and her own changes as per the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Plus it’s a breeze to make and very refreshing on a hot summer day as an appetizer, lunch or light meal. Recipe can be found at: www.skinnytaste.com
As always, be well, be fit, be strong and always smiling.
