Hey pretty Mama,
If you are reading this, you are most likely already further along into your pregnancy and are having trouble sleeping through the night. This is one of the many pregnancy ailments that can occur and which can make expectant moms miserable. (I remember well). To break the vicious cycle, exercise is a great way for you to not only strengthen your cardiovascular system, and your muscles but it will enable you to complete day-to-day tasks with less effort, leaving you with more energy throughout the day.
By exercising on a regular basis, – at least 3 times a week and at least 3 hours before you go to bed, you will help yourself sleep better, by working off the excess energy, tiring you enough to fall into a deeper, more restful sleep. So, grab your sneakers and even if you only make time for a quick 20 minute walk, a dip in the pool, a prenatal fitness, pilates or yoga class you will be able to improve the quality of your sleep, and reap many of the other benefits of exercise. Some examples are: improved energy, better mood, better self-esteem and self-image, better endurance, less excess weight gain, as well as a faster, easier and less painful labor, a quicker post-baby recovery and best of all improves your child’s neurological, mental, and physical development. (All the more reasons to get started exercising right?).
Let me know how you do.
Be well, fit and always smiling.
